WHY I TAKE PICTURES

Photography begins for me in the same place as music and film — in emotion, atmosphere, memory, and the desire to feel something deeply. I’m drawn to imagery that lingers like a scene from a movie or a song that quietly opens something inside of you. Cinematic light, movement, tension, intimacy, color, gesture — these are the elements that continue to shape the way I see and create.

I’m a Northern California photographer creating emotionally driven imagery for individuals, artists, brands, and stories. My work lives somewhere between portraiture and visual storytelling, with an emphasis on mood, presence, and authenticity over performance or perfection. Whether I’m photographing a person, a place, or a brand, the goal is always the same: to create imagery that feels honest, atmospheric, and alive.

I’m especially interested in the emotional space images can hold — photographs that feel raw, sensual, introspective, empowered, or quietly cinematic without needing to over-explain themselves. Much of my work is influenced by film, music, travel, and the subtle tension between vulnerability and strength. I often think of photographs as fragments of a larger story — still frames suspended inside a feeling.

That approach extends across every part of my work, from editorial and commercial projects to intimate portraiture and modern sensual imagery rooted in self-expression and presence. I want the staging and technique to disappear into the experience itself, allowing the viewer to feel immersed in the atmosphere of the image rather than aware of its construction.

At its core, this work is about connection, collaboration, and creating something meaningful together. That remains the truest joy of what I do.
